Fixed potential hang if app left open on closed phone
Added monthly total ascent with count of every workout over 300 meter
Added cross county skiing, which can also be used for alpine touring. Distance requires iOS 18 and last watchOS.
Fixed distance in cycling
Why
We should be measured against out own current abilities, i.e. recent averages
An app should not tell us when we should exercise more. We know best how we are feeling and what is the best level of exercise each day
We are best at defining our goals based on how we know our own body
Keep moving, in any fashion, if possible. It is the best goal for all days

Count your climbs
Alpine touring is among my favorite workouts in the winter season. In iOS 18 and latest watchOS Apple added measurement of distance and pace for
cross country skiing. When I go for alpine touring, I choose cross county skiing as the activity in the Apple training app on the watch.
After the workout I get a proper distance and pace measurement, and I can also see the map in the Apple fitness app.
To keep track of the number of alpine touring workouts for each season I have added a count of the number of workouts that ascends more than 300 meter.
This way I can easily see the number of alpine touring workouts I have done each month. This can also be used for ultra running in the mountains or mountain cycling.
The 14 day average
The app will search for everyday health metric data and running workouts (indoor and outdoor), biking, hiking and walking within the last 180 days.
For each workout or health metric the app will calculate an average value.
The average is calculated over 14 days. So for each workout point, or health metric data, there will be a orange point that indicates the average value of the data the previous 14 days.
If there are no workouts in the 14 day period preceeding any point, average can not be calculated.
The idea by this 14 day average is to show how your most recent workouts are improving compared to your performance the last month. This way your performance will be compared to your own abilities and fitness level.
Each workout will be classified according the similar distances, within pluss minus 300 m. Then each workout within the selected period will be listed and there will be duration,
average heart rate and pace gauges with maximum and minimum levels set to what is found within each class if distances. This way you can compare your last run with similar sessions of the same distance. By pressing the small gray i behind the distance, you will get the ranking based on duration within the distance class.
